Information on the year in industry gap placement scheme and upcoming recruitment and interview days

The Year in Industry is a major placement organisation in the UK for students keen on undertaking a gap year between ‘A’ levels and university. As a higher education, charitable trust gap year scheme, they place students into Engineering and Technology companies, prior to University, for a year’s degree relevant paid work experience. This scheme allows the students to earn money, confirm their career choice at University /or explore alternative study & work routes while receiving valuable work experience. It provides a greater chance of sponsorship and, obviously, enhances their longer term employment prospects. Wide range of sectors to choose from, including engineering, science, finance, economics, technology, IT, business and many more.

• Salaries range between £11,000 – £14,000.
• In most cases, students DO NOT HAVE TO DEFER UNIVERSITY ENTRY unless they are placed with the scheme.
• Greater chance of sponsorship following the placement year or funded part time degrees.
• Offices situated nationwide.
• Placements usually commence in August or September until July the following year.
